Album Notes
John/CuePublik blends the likes of Drum n Bass, IDM, Illbient, trip hop, and hip hop into a melting pot of drifting pads, hard gltiched out beats, 8 bit sounds, and occasionally things found more traditionally in the genre gone after for the particular song. This CD follows after many different production styles with a certain flavor of sound that somehow bridges the gaps between different genres on the same cd. IDM for Emo Kids starts with a sort of mid 90s hip hop vibe in "classic", roars into IDM based hip hop with "Like Minded" gets twisted out with the abrasive IDM track, "Overdrive", then takes a turn to the amen breaks of DnB through "Early Morning" and "Save Your Head", falls back on sound styles of older albums by him with "Song for Alice" and "Undone". The CD finally finishes up with a hybrid of IDM, acid jazz, and illbient in a laid back yet gltiched out track titled "0". This CD is proof of a desire to create a sonic version of everything that surrounds us in the every day life that could only be our own.
