Album Notes
Get up, get on the 'Bandwagon' with multi-award winning singer/songwriter Joanie Leeds as she brings 15 new rockin' songs to your family. With marvelous pounding drums and noodling guitars produced by Grammy Award Winning Dean Jones, the album contains songs that will bring back a slew of childhood memories to parents while children will revel in Joanie's understanding of their dreams and relevant daily experiences. Some of the journey is serious, (Use Your Words) or silly, (UFO). Some of the journey is important (Helmet), while other parts are pure fun, (Are We There Yet, Bed, I Love New York) Joanie gives a glimpse into the importance of tracing our roots and explains her grandmother's passion for genealogy with (Family Tree) and one of her musical idols, Jonatha Brooke sings beautiful harmonies on the tune. (Nutritious), a song about healthy eating has lyrics written by Joanie but the melody is by the great, Stevie Wonder. The tune which is completely revamped with interesting beats and percussion by drummer Dan Barman sounds nothing like the original topped off with Joanie's glockenspiel. There are teaching songs too disguised of course doused in boisterous entertainment (Little Cloud, Let's Go) and Joanie wrote a band anthem which is her favorite tune on the album, Nightlights.
