Album Notes
Joanie & Matt (JAM) is made up of NYC-based multi-award winning singer/songwriters Joanie Leeds & Matthew Check. For their songwriting and 10+ recordings between them, they have earned an Emmy nomination, 1st place in the USA Songwriting Competition, Independent Music Award and John Lennon Songwriting Contest Finalist and have been featured in People Magazine, the New York Times and Washington Post.

Back in 2008, Joanie and Matt co-wrote a collection of songs for a Jewish Children’s Bluegrass album during their daily lunch breaks while working at Central Synagogue. Challah, Challah, the first “Jewgrass” children’s album, was born! After a decade of Nationally touring with their own individual projects (The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Wolftrap, Skirball Center, LIMMUD NY...) the multi-award winning song-writing duo has reunited and taking it to the next level- music for grownups!

Their harmony infused Folksy-Americana-Bluegrass (FAB) tunes for their debut album, STERLING, are inspired by stories and characters from ancient texts.
