ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
tony fresh was born and raised in south-east san diego, ca. , and has always had a love for music. in the earlier days he was a part of rap crews and break dance crews and gained a real reputation for battling other dance crews and winning many of them. his musical taste and influences were diversed as he grew up listening to all the r&b oldies, hip-hop, the motown sound, michael jackson, prince, etc... he also was heavily into jamaican and dance-hall style of music as evidenced on his break out debut fresh out , an album that tony fresh put out by himself on his record label nitti records. t-fresh and j-irie are childhood friends. they did private recordings together and spirit man is one of those recordings. the song is based on tony fresh's brother darius houghton a.k.a. saint dee, who was also in the group but passed away in 1995 and he is still flowing in the spirit. t-fresh produced the album entitled, spirit man,and it is a smashing album.

GREAT!!! ROOTS RAP REGGAE WITH MAD SAN DIEGO FLAVA
If you are a fan of roots reggae and rap then this cd is for you. If you are a resident of San Diego then this is a must have cd. Many of these songs could be anthems of San Diego. The raps provided by T-Fresh are OK and the vocals provided by J-Irie remind me of Nate Dogg of the DPG. All the hard reggae basslines make this cd worth buying. The Dubs are great too.
