Jeremy Porter & The Tucos are a 3 piece band from the Detroit area who play a rowdy blend of catchy bar-rock, old-school power-pop and whiskey-soaked alt-country/Americana. With influences ranging from Hüsker Dü and Cheap Trick to Uncle Tupelo and Gram Parsons, the band provides no shortage of hooks and energy while keeping some twang and heartache in there as well.

Jeremy Porter has a long, varied history in the Michigan music scene. In 1986 he formed The Regulars – one of the first punk bands in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. After moving to Detroit, he led Chutes & Ladders, Slugbug, Fidrych and The OffRamps through over 20 years of gigging, touring and recording. The Tucos have long, impressive resumes themselves, including runs with great bands like The Hotwalls, Culture Bandits, Brooklawn and The OffRamps.

In 2010 Jeremy released his debut solo album (Party of One – Magwheel Records) and embarked on a national solo-acoustic tour including 40 shows across the East Coast and Midwest USA and Canada.

JP & The Tucos maintain a heavy regional gigging/touring schedule. Their second show was in Chicago and their third show was opening for Jesse Malin and The St. Marks Social. They contributed a track to the 2010 Suburban Sprawl Records Annual Christmas Sampler after only their second practice. They stay busy, focused and driven.

In 2011 JP & The Tucos will follow up their debut Night On The Town EP with a full length on Magwheel Records.
