Album Notes
The Jellydots have just finished a 13 song album called “Hey You Kids!” “Hey You Kids!” was recorded in June of 2006 with Mark Addison at his Aerie Studio in Austin. Jim Wilson mastered it in his new home, Airshow Mastering in Boulder, CO.

“Hey You Kids!” is a compilation of all the hits songs by The Jellydots over the last four years with three new songs (Captain Sleep, Bicycle, and Three is a Magic Number.” Tracks 1-9 are uptempo dance tunes designed to wear your kid out. The album ends on a slow note with four soft and mellow tunes perfect for naptime. “Hey You Kids!” was recorded live with the band, so you’ll feel like you’re right there with them at a show.

Hey You Kids! has just been voted number seven in the
Fids and Kamily Poll top 16 albums of 2006.
Not bad for an album with an October 2006 release!

Here's an excerpt by Bill Childs of
Spare the Rock Spoil the Child:

#7: Hey You Kids! - The Jellydots

"No album this year had a better opening song than Hey You Kids! from the Austin, Texas-based Jellydots. “Bicycle,” evoking the joy of being on a bike, whether you’re a kid or a grownup, is simply an exquisite song from start to finish. And who hasn’t wanted to ride a bicycle on the sea or in the sky?"

Here's what some of Doug's friends had to say:

"...make sure you send an email when you play again, gonna bring some of the folks from work. phenomenal album, my friend!"

-Derek Brown

...Rock on dearest!!! You WILL be rich and famous one day, cuz you deserve it!

-Kayci Wheatley

This is a great
This is so cool. Writing songs from a childs perspective. If I were a kid it would be awesome to have you as music teachers. Many children and parents will get a kick out of this. Great job

worth the hunt for the album
heard on NPR, took a while to track down. Worth the hunt! Less funky than They Might Be Giant's, but just as fun and even good for grandparents.

Family Rock and Roll
I have a one year old and my wife and I are trying to get him used to various styles of music. We have been listening to a local kids rock and roll program in the Portland area, and just loved the Bicycle song. The biggest selling points is the various styles of music that Doug plays on this album.

My son loves this CD
Great musicianship, funny lyrics, and works well for adults and preschoolers. I think that they sound a heck of a lot like the Foo Fighters without the cuss words. My wife and I can't believe that all three of us like this album. It has enough punk sensibility for me, enough talk about bicycles and cookies for my 3 year old, and catchy grooves my wife likes (not much of a music fan, usually). This CD will be CD baby's bread and butter for the next year, especially since this record was featured on National Public Radio. Expect it to go gold, seriously.

Great for the whole family
I bought this CD for my 6 year old grandson but I love it and his dad can't stop listening to it. Great CD!

Thinking this music is a bit more like Foo Fighters maybe. Some of its art is a bit lost on my nearly 2 toddler, but my nearly 30 brother thought it was pretty cool.

Linda loves CD Baby and the Jellydots
Grand daughter is only 11 months and I think I enjoy this CD more than her! Great music for all. Thank you, Jellydots.

The Jelldots ROCK!
I heard about the Jellydots on NPR and bought the CD to share with my neices and nephews.....they loved it and so do I! Keep rockin' Jellydots! We need more!!!!

Austin's Gift to the World I see the rest of the world has discovered the Jellydots! I have been a fan since I saw them play the Austin City Limits Festival back in 2003...they are wonderful, simply wonderful. Doug has a beautiful voice and the lyrics are perfect.

The Jellydots might just change a few families' lives.
Hey You Kids! is a fine showcase for Doug Snyder's abundant songwriting skills and voice and the adept musicianship of the trio. If you have any affinity for power-pop and indie-pop, you need to check out this album. It's too good to let Austin have all the fun.
