Album Notes
"Jeff Jacobson is one of the most accomplished musicians in New York." -

"Poignant, polished, well-executed pop songs full of memorable hooks and exquisite guitar lines." - Urban Folk

"The album ends, and it's good that most CD players have a repeat function so you can go right back to the beginning." - Boog City

"Jeff Jacobson definitely is no musical lightweight. Paying homage to the past without sounding derivative, it's no wonder that he's won several accolades as a singer/songwriter." - The Deli Magazine

"Finalist in the Williamsburg Live Singer/Songwriter Competition, Jeff Jacobson is clearly one of the best singer/songwriters in the Williamsburg/East Village scene. His performances encompass the best of all music skills: finger-picking, intricate rhythms, poignant lyrics, and a dynamite vocal delivery." - Williamsburg Live Singer/Songwriter Competition

"A real songwriter's songwriter, as well as someone who can write a song for hordes of adoring fans. Anyone catching one of Jeff's sets will walk away with a smile and humming one of Jeff's tunes... On top of that, in a sea of good but not spectacular guitar players, Jeff's guitar playing rocks." -

Few songwriters recording today take the time to make this kind of deliberate, thoughtful album. Every track in the collection is a standout, and though this is Jeff Jacobson’s debut release, his songwriting abilities are as mature and well-developed as an artist with a slew of successes under his belt. This CD has been in steady rotation on my player since I got it, and I can already say it’s one of my top five favorite releases this year.

I stumbled across this record by mistake, I don't listen to as much music besides metal as perhaps I should, but coming across Jeff's website, I thought I should give it a try. I'm SO glad I did.
After listening to the tracks online, I ordered the CD immediately and it's enjoyed heavy rotation among the chaos of my other CDs. I even ended up buying a second copy for my girlfriend because she loved it too.
The guitar playing and vocals are beautiful and the songwriting is just outstanding. I'd recommend this record for fans of this style of music, and honestly, I'd suggest it to people who AREN'T. It could open up a whole new range of music for them. SIX stars, 'cuz it doesn't let me go that high in the box above.

ULTRA Memorable NEW Rock (with a timeless flavor)!!
I simply love this CD. Right after I bought it, I slapped it into my car to crank in isolation... I must've repeated the first track ("Let You Down") a billion times before moving on... Then track #4 ("Falling Backwards") hit, and I freaked! I LOVE that song--the bassline/vocal counterpoint, progression, PERFECT melody and great organic instrumentation... small ensemble symphonic rock!! I then repeated THAT a zillion billion times. I also similarly flipped over the beauty and vibe of track #9 ("Pretty Picture")--just Jeff plucking away, bare bones, and singing up a storm.

Honestly, I like all the songs. But I REALLY LOVE "Let You Down" and "Falling Backwards." Any Music Supervisor looking for fresh, purty, memorable-as-heck rock tracks would be wise to use one of these for something.... soundtrack, TV show land, etc. Any extra thing that helps these gems get heard by more and more would be awesome!

As an extra bonus, I LOVE hearing rock-flavored tracks where a NYLON STRING ACOUSTIC is the actual backbone of the tunes. That's not common, man. Lyndsey Buckingham does it on a few of his tunes... Sting on a couple... But this CD features it prominenlty, in a more modern rock setting, yet blends it in with big electric sounds and nice piano touches (in choruses, etc.). It's all really a breath of fresh air.
