Peaceful and reflective, Christmas Tide features elegant piano arrangements of nine carols enveloped in soft yet tasteful keyboard sounds. Perfect for holiday dinner parties, a gift for the hostess or massage therapist, or just bringing in the Christmas Tide.

Jeanne is a private violin and piano teacher in Atlanta, Georgia. It all started with the CD's cover photo she took on Florida's west coast where she lived just a few years ago:

"Some say that it must be cold for it to feel like Christmas, but not so for me. Christmas to me is peace and tranquility unlike any other time of year. Especially on the Gulf coast of Florida. The day I took the cover photos was a mild, sunny December afternoon with calm waters. Boat masts and palm tree trunks were wrapped in colored lights, Santas were portrayed in Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses, and Christmas trees had nautically-themed ornaments. It was a different ambiance than in the summertime -- more still. Or as Jimmy Buffett would put it, the coast was clear.

"One of my favorite Christmas ads is the Corona beer commercial: no dialogue, no music, just the sight of a lone beach bungalo and palm tree strung in colored lights sitting on a remote tropical shore at night and the sound of small waves breaking in the distance -- the Christmas Tide coming in."

Being an orchestral violinist for over half of her life, Jeanne was inspired by the symphony orchestra's variety of instruments. Christmas Tide includes piano, string sounds, roll cymbal, magical, twinkly sounds, and a guitar-flute-harp trio.

But the song that ties in to the cover photo is Fore An' Aft, All Is Well. Waves break in the background as the piano plays a simple variation of Silent Night. Peaceful, indeed.

A graduate of the Florida State University School of Music, Jeanne considers herself to be a patriot of the independent recording artist revolution:

"It is rewarding to have complete control of the outcome of my product. It takes longer because no mass production is used.I wear the hats of musician, engineer, graphic artist, publicist, and sales rep. What an education! But my art is not compromised in the process. I have developed a greater appreciation for what those do who wear those hats professionally."

Christmas Tide was recorded on an Ensoniq TS-12 piano keyboard. The CD covers were printed out one at a time using original photography, full color printing, then cut and folded by hand. Nothing was mass produced. All was homemade and a labor of love.
