ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I am very excited (and relieved) be be finally releasing this music. This album is the result of on and off work over the past couple of years. After I finished my first song in 2013, I set a goal for myself that I would complete a collection of 10 songs for piano. Five years later, I met that goal. I had a difficult time figuring out what to name the album, but I eventually settled on "Becoming Tomorrow." I settled on this title because I think it reflects the overall message of the album, which I didn't know was there until after I finished it, and that is a simple message of spreading positivity and optimism. I hope you enjoy this music as much as I enjoyed writing and playing it.

JARRED WALKER’S ALBUM FEATURES PIANO AND MORE AND IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Highly recommended is the music from the energetic new album by Jarred Walker. The album, BECOMING TOMORROW, has ten original tunes (piano-with-backing-instruments) that show his many influences -- new age, ragtime, classical, jazz, Broadway show tunes, pop music and film themes. Several of the tunes have tempo changes or go from soft to rollicking and back again. These are absolutely fun-filled tracks. He is primarily a pianist, but he livens up the ivories-sounds with bass and drums quite often plus occasionally with strings, woodwinds and even handclaps. There is a passion exhibited on every track. Both hands are active. The melodies are sublime. His energy and enthusiasm are contagious.

An album to get your feet tapping to the beat
Debut artist Jarred Walker has released his first offering to us all, it is called Becoming Tomorrow, a powerful new compilation of magical arrangements, ones that seem to lift the mood and lighten the soul.
This amazing new album contains a multitude of other instrumentation, but at all times the artist’s piano is in the fore of all that is happening. The flourishing opening Something New contains some really fascinating patterns and creations to enjoy, whilst the following piece Along For The Ride has a fluency of pace and power, and at times reminds me a little of Billy Joel.
I adored the gentleness of Fill the Stars and the fluency of Turning Point, a track so cleverly arranged, that it lulls you in with its smooth approach; then picks up pace and leaves you with a smile at the conclusion.
My personal favourite off the album is the slightly jazzy and laid back composition entitled Looking Back, its tones and musical narrative were compelling, and seemingly both reflective and positive at the same time. I also felt a slight memory filter, perhaps reminding me of a little Carpenters in the weave as well.
The album concludes with a piece entitled End Of The Line, the tranquil approach here is well crafted with a little fun styled rag and jazz show styled mix of a track, which brought to an end one of the most inventive collections of music I have heard for quite some time.
Becoming Tomorrow from Jarred Walker is a combination of styles, weaved into a tapestry of various genres, this is then mixed into a fine selection of great tunes and melodies that will have you tapping your feet to the beat, whilst allowing you to feel the underpinned creativity of the artist. This is one album you will certainly want to give a listen to.
