ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jane Ryan is a Chicago-area native who has been playing piano for most of her life, beginning formal lessons when she was seven years old. From age ten,she played pipe organ in church and demonstrated organs at a music store to prospective buyers.

She has studied with Ann Riley, a renowned organist and composer who studied composition under Alexander Tcherepnin and lived with Mr Tcherepnin and his wife in France. Ms. Ryan subsequently studied piano with Enid Katahn, who has toured the United States and Europe and has recorded many CDs of her own.

Jane Ryan earned the first and only Commercial Music Degree from George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville,TN. The college merged the following year with Vanderbilt University.

Ms. Ryan's business, Calligraphics, produced many hand-done lead sheets for songwriters and music producers in Nashville for 15 years- among them, Conway Twitty, Lewis Anderson, Tim Tappan, Craig Deutschmann, and Don Gant. She has been teaching private piano to all ages since 1979.

"Flights of Fancy" is Jane Ryan's first CD. She is currently residing in a northwest suburb of Chicago. She has a husband and two daughters, of whom she is very proud.
