ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Inland Island creates lyrically driven songs from a place of introspection and positivity, within a style of music that is clear and easy to listen to, but dense and full of surprises which reward the close listener. Drawing on their experience as a non-binary person, and their family history as a Hungarian Canadian, band leader Avalon Tassonyi brings an original and poignant perspective to the songwriting craft. As a self-produced project up to this point, Inland Island has garnered a reputation for consistent, quality output, carving out a space anchored within folk and pop music traditions.

The Montreal-based project has released three full-lengths since 2016, with 'Salbum' set to release this summer. The band's live presentation switches between solo sets and full band performances featuring a regular cast including Ellen Belshaw and Nick Nausbaum. Inland Island has appeared at Festivals such as Pop Montréal, Halifax Pop Explosion and MEGAPHONO, with more live dates to be announced for fall 2019 and many new recordings in the works.
