Album Notes
It's like country and rock spent the night together and neither had the nerve to call each other in the morning. That's just one way to describe this high energy duo. Doug Healy & Randy Orr have just released their 3rd CD "Old Dirt Roads". With the exception of an Ozzy cover tune, and "Light In The Wood" by friend Peter Liardi, these are all Healy & Orr co-writes. Between the two of them, they perform everything you will hear on the CD. Healy on acoustics, mandolin, banjo and electrics, Orr handling bass, drums, acoustics, harmonica and keys. Lead vocals are mostly by Healy but with the amount of harmony vocals by Orr, it almost seems like a co lead situation. Orr does handle the lead vocals on a nice adaptation of Ozzy's Crazy Train.

Healy & Orr, based in Brockville, Ontario, have been entertaining crowds with their high energy acoustic rock for almost 15 years now. They have gigged in 5 different countries with a diverse bunch of bands including Iron Maiden, Peter Frampton, Supertramp, Trooper, 54-40, and Big Wreck.

I think it is awesome! They are both very talented musicians and I enjoy every track on the CD! I think we are going to hear a lot more from these two guys.

Great Songs & Performances Top To Bottom
The Bio hits it on the head. This is Country without the twang and Rock without the bombast. Think Paper & Fire era John Cougar, who Healy`s voice reminds me of a bit. The title track could easily be a Keith Urban hit single. What I love most about this disc is the vocal harmony. It seems to sit in all the right places throughout. After reading the credits, I was amazed that thes 2 performed everything themselves. There is a nice mix of tempos and feels on this as well. The track Hometown Hero has some very emotional sections in it. Powerful stuff for sure . This CD is a gem to be enjoyed by fans of The Eagles, Alison Krauss and maybe even Blues Traveller. Thank you boys for giving us these wonderful songs.
