Album Notes

Parent's Choice Honors Award
Hap Palmer. Hap-Pal Music, HP110 Ages 4-9

Prolific singer/songwriter/educator Hap Palmer, the voice of the "Babysongs" videos, is pretty much unsurpassed when it comes to turning education into irresistible sing along, move along music. It's not that he uses material that other educational artists don't--it's that he does it so well. This new release for preschoolers through third graders, lyrical play with arithmetic , phonics, and shapes, is great for home and the classroom, ranking with Palmer's best.

Can A Jumbo Jet Sing The Alphabet?
Hap Palmer. Hap-Pal Music, HP110 Ages 4-9

Hap Palmer is a steady musical friend and teacher for any young person to pal around with. This release is the third in a comprehensive guide that creatively teaches basic skills and fundamental concepts through music and movement. Hap's clever lyrics, easy vocals and organic arrangements are always a pleasure. Great liner notes for teachers, too.

Can a Jumbo Jet Sing the Alphabet
Hap Palmer
Ages 2 to 8

Fun and learning are so thoroughly, agreeably entwined on this new offering from Babysongs creator Hap Palmer that your preschoolers won't be able to tell which is which. Seasoned pro Palmer, who helped pioneer the use of music and movement in teaching basic skills, covers all the bases. There are songs dealing with letters, numbers, shapes, body parts, even "relating spatial concepts to basic fractions" - not to mention learning "hello" and "goodbye" in a dazzling array of languages ( try Yoruba, Macedonian, and Cantonese). Palmer gets tots moving, too, with sprightly, beautifully produced tunes such as "The Bean Bag" and "Boogie Down and Cruise." His amiable, I'm-your-buddy vocals suit these stylistically varied offerings wonderfully, making him, without a doubt, an essential component of the family music library."

Can a Jumbo Jet Sing the Alphabet?
Ages 3-7. Hap Palmer delivers another winning recording that successfully combines music, movement, and other activities in the learning process. From the 16 short songs, children can learn numbers and phonics, identify tools and utensils, and discern the difference between fantasy and reality, among other concepts. Background instrumentation is effective, nicely supplementing the clear vocals. Lyrics and suggested activities are included in the guide, as is a list of the skills and concepts presented. Because each song deals with multiple concepts, it may be possible to use the music throughout the school year without repeating a single concept. Adult guidance is required. -Cynthia Alexa

CAN A JUMBO JET SING THE ALPHABET? is designed to teach basic skills and fundamental concepts through music and movement. Together with CAN A CHERRY PIE WAVE GOODBYE? and CAN COCKATOOS COUNT BY TWOS? the three recordings provide a comprehensive collection of music and movement activities that support the curriculum from pre-school through third grade.

The lively variety of musical styles make the songs appealing to students in the intermediate grades as well. The movement activities are helpful for remedial review of basic concepts while giving students a chance to get up and move, take a break from seat work, cleanse the mind, and relax the body.

Innovative original songs teach a wide range of concepts such as identification of letters, phonics, rhyming, counting patterns, comparison of number value, and fractions, including initial consonant sounds, blends and word endings. Some old favorites have also been included with updated lyrics and contemporary musical treatments.

A complete guide is included which contains song lyrics and suggested ways of presenting activities to the students along with variations and follow up activities to make learning stimulating, challenging and fun!

Instant favorite!!
I had not heard of Hap Palmer before my daughter's kindergarten teacher recommended him. She said it was a wonderful tool in helping children learn their letters, math, etc. Wow, was she ever right about that!! This cd has become the favorite of all my children, ages three, five, and seven. It literally gets played every day. My children walk around singing various verses from it. It's wonderful. Thanks so much!!

An inspiring cd to teach concepts in a fun and creative way
I teach in a school and preschool where there are more than forty cultures represented. I purchased this cd as I loved the multicultural greetings song. After receiving my cd I was thrilled with the songs and the messages all the songs teach young children. I know children will be inspired and have fun whilst learning concepts.

Awesome Music
We will use Round the World to Say Hello for our opening song at graduation this year. Take Me Out to the Ball Game teaches more and less and my class loves it.

Hap Palmer's CD is terrific for teaching basic concepts to children. My students really love Round the World with Ways to Say Hello and Alphabet in Motion...I'm sure that as I introduce other songs from this CD, they will be just as well received. A must-have for multicultural families and classrooms!

I brought this for my kindergarten class and it is a wonderful teaching tool! My children love when I put this CD on they are happy because there is music on and they love to sing and I am happy because they are learning. This CD makes my job a whole lot easier.

I had forgotten how great Mr. Palmer is!
I bought this CD on line after searching and not finding anything new for my preschool graduation. I couldn't believe the wealth of things I was able to come up with from it. It is definitely one of the best Mr. Palmer has done!

One of Parent's Choice Foundation's top 25 audios - I agree!
I purchase the children's materials for a small public library, and I need to spend wisely. When I saw the Parent's Choice Foundation all-time Best 25 Audio for children list, I knew I should get as many as possible. This CD comes in at #3, and it's a great one; singable songs that teach and/or get a kid moving. Adults will like them, too. The lyric sheet has lots of ideas for activities to enhance the fun and learning. You'll be glad you bought this CD!
