Now, on with this wonderful CD.

Sweet Dreaming won Best Classical Album at the 2002 Hawaii Music Awards! It's actually half classical and half semi-classical, and probably the sweetest recording of steel drums you have ever heard. Smooth, soft, and relaxing, it's more like chamber music than orchestral. The listener can hear all the steel drum parts clearly, unlike large bands. In addition, add some Hawaiian ukulele (honest!), acoustic grand piano, a little guitar and you have a unique sound never done until now.

This CD is not just for classical music lovers, it's for anyone who wants to hear something refreshing, stylish, and elegant. It's a recording destined to set new standards for steel drum lovers.

For custom audio or MP3 CD's, contact Greg,, and you can choose/pay for just the songs you want from our five CD's.

Bio: We are an instrumental duo. I play parallel lead pans (higher register) and Junko plays double seconds (lower register). My introduction to pan was at the University of California, Berkeley. Having been a professional trap set drummer, I took a class at Berkeley in 1985, and fell in love with steel drums. For that year I performed with the Berkeley Steel Orchestra, then moved to Hawaii. Junko and I met at a Christmas party in 1994. She liked the sound of the instrument and began coming to band rehearsals, later learning a few tunes and sitting in with us. Her musical background is classical piano, so she had a well trained ear and picked up pan quickly. By 1996 we had formed a duo, and a couple years later got married. She is from Tokyo and is the world's first professional female Japanese pan player. Our cultural and musical differences help to define our sound. We are dedicated to this instrument, which is another story, too long for here.

Credits: We have provided pre concert entertainment for Harry Belafonte, Jimmy Buffet, Julio Iglesias and Kenny Loggins (all while they were in Hawaii.) Our corporate clients include: Sony, ATT, Coke Cola, Dr.Pepper/7up, Coors, Intel, Taco Bell, Motorola, Cisco Systems, and dozens more. Our Latin album, Pan-a-Cabana, was featured in July 2002 on the largest Hispanic TV network in the world, Univision, broadcasting from Miami. In June 1999, we appeared on Home Shopping Network and set a new sales record (to that date).

Contact info: If you are planning an event, we specialize in background music for weddings, dinners, cocktails, grand openings, registrations, etc. If you want a full calypso band, we can provide that also. Phone/fax (808) 735-6003, e-mail, or write to Greg and Junko MacDonald at PO Box 161083, Honolulu, HI 96816. Please email us to get on our mailing list. If you are planning your event through an agent, destination service, or other such provider, we would be happy to work with them to simplify your efforts.

Coming to Hawaii? Please catch one of our free performances in the heart of Waikiki, at International Market Place, Food Court Stage, Sun and Tue, 7-9pm, under the Banyan Tree! Sometimes visitors get lost in the Market Place, if so, the Food Court Stage is in the back left if you enter from Kalakaua. Or, just ask a vendor. See ya there!

Brings me back to the Island
I enjoy the relaxing sound Sweet Dreaming offers myself and all those who venture by my musical laptop :)

Love it-enjoyed all the songs
I thoroughly enjoyed this CD. The Songs are beautiful.

Saw you in Hawaii in Feb. 2003. Love the CD

I recently purchase three of your CD's as you can see from
my review. Am enjoying listening to all three. Will be
purchasing more in the near future. Hope you will be in
Hawaii again in Feb. 2004

Very nice and relaxing (as the write-up suggests).
I would have preferred to hear some songs played a little faster, especially Canon in D. I was torn between a 3 and a 4 star rating and settled on the 3 only because of a lack of variety in style and tempo.

Sweet Dreaming, Timeless,
I have seen Greg & Junko in Hawaii - in person is a must see. I already have all their music, except Banana Boat Rider-that's next. Love Sweet Dreaming & Timeless for easy listening. Super enjoy Pan-A-Cabana & Pan 2 Paradise. Five star all!Pan-A-Cabana has light Latin touch. Pan 2 Paradise is truly island and Caribbean! If I make it back to Hawaii Greg & Junko are on the list of musts.

Fantastic !!
This was one of the most relaxing CD's I've enjoyed in a long time. Wonderful renditions of many favorites and new titles. Great addition to my pan collection.

Love it!
My seven month old granddaughter loves the music on "Sweet Dreaming". I'm buying another copy for another baby, and a new album for my own granddaughter, Julia. Thank you.

Outstanding and Unusual CD!
Greg and Junko have taken the steel drum to new heights! Much of the "traditional" pan music is so monotonous, it just grinds on with little to keep your interest. This is serious music played by two serious musicians.

Exactly what I wanted!
I wanted a steel drum version of Canon in D to play at my tropical wedding and this one is absolutely beautiful!! Thank you so much for my entrance so amazing :)
