Album Notes
Summer beach reads are well and good, but jazz artist Gino Goss offers the perfect summer beach listen-tos — exotic beats and dreamy tunes that cross multiple musical genres. The trumpeter, flugelhornist and Latin percussionist — recently named the Best World Artist at the 2015 Indie Music Channel Awards for his new single, “Zoom Bye-Aye” and 2015 Best Jazz Artist and Producer by Indie Music Channel Radio Awards. Gino is starting 2016 off with a bang in his not new single "LA - Its Like That." He is broadening his horizons with his multi-genre songwriting skills. His latest release 'LA - Its Like That' introduces new music that is infused with the smoothness of his jazz roots and influenced by his wide ranging background in rock. urban, R&B, and Afro-Cuban/world beat genres.
Gino's sophomore CD 'Turn It UP' featured a hip-swaying start with “Night in Rio,” which provides a mental teleportation to the Cidade Maravilhosa with its distinctive Afro-Latin bongo percussion beautifully overlaid with piano and horn. The album also includes the brisk “Black Zulu,” the retro-flavored “Funk It Up” and those unforgettably sultry vocals by Rossella Cosentino on the midtempo, ’60s-cocktail-party-vibe-ish “Loosing My Way” as well as the slower “Don’t Give Up,” which leans more toward straightforward smooth jazz. “Just Don’t Want Another Broken Heart,” which has a remix as a bonus track, is one of the best showcases of Gino’s skills.
