Album Notes
Nightlights, Songs from a Parent's Heart is a collection of fully orchestrated original lullabies by film and television composer Paul Gilreath. The nine tracks are uniquely composed so that the first four are sung by a female, representing the mother and the last four are sung by a male vocalist, representing the father. The lyrics beautifully capture the feelings of new parents toward their child. Nightlights won Parenting Magazine's Gold Award for Best Lullaby Album of the Year and has been used by hospitals nation wide as gifts for their new mothers.

to write a review

My daughter loves this CD! In fact, the original CD that we received from the hospital was played so many times that it broke, so we bought it for her as a birthday present.

A very soothing collection.
This CD of songs really tugged at my heart. My daughter loves it. The songs are very soothing, and the melody really makes my daughter happy to go to sleep.
Thank you..

Not just for kids!
I bought two of these CDs, one as a gift and one to keep for myself and my two children (girl age 3, boy age 5). The mother/father combination of singing is quite unique. Our favorite time to listen to it is when it's bathtime. We turn out all the lights except the "star" lights ( a rope light in a ceiling tray in our master bath) and the kids play and relax in the tub before bed. I'll be honest, this is not just for kids! When I'm in the bath, I do the same thing. It's a great relaxation CD that lets you melt away the stress.

beautiful, touching, memorable
My siblings and I thought that this CD was so beautiful and touching that we chose one selection to play at our mothers recent funeral. There is a special bond and a fond memory that we now can all share by having this CD to play frequently.

a beautiful collection of lullabies
This CD helps my son to calm himself after particularly difficults times. We both sit down and talk about his day while listening to this CD. It has a great stress-relieving quality to it.

Miracle Worker!
Before I purchased this CD getting my daughter to finally go to sleep involved a lot of crying and screaming. Now I turn on the music and read her a book and half the time she is asleep before I finish with the book. If she wakes up during the night all I have to do is hit play and she quiets down within minutes! My sister is pregnant and you can bet that she will be getting this CD as a present!

CD Baby

Outstanding lullaby albums are not something we come by every day here at CD Baby and this one is definitely worth noting for parents and expectant mothers. These gentle, tender pieces for piano, voice, guitar and full orchestra give each of these tracks a soft, rumbling depth incredibly soothing and comforting. With effortless vocals, there is no question that no matter who it is that needs the lulling, child or adult, "Nightlights" will do the trick gracefully.
