"Grammy and Platinum Award Winner" and Lead Singer of the “legendary Grammy award-winning classic R&B vocal group, “The Manhattans“ releases his first Gospel Project “True Gospel”.
The name Gerald Alston has always been synonymous with soul, elegance and sophistication. Gerald now brings the same style and essence to his highly anticipated gospel CD, “True Gospel”.
“True Gospel “produced by Travis Milner and Gerald Alston is a collaborative effort with Grammy and Stellar nominated gospel saxophonist and producer Mel Holder. Featuring the gifted extraordinary songstress Regina Belle and the incomparable baritone Will Downing this CD offers both traditional favorites and new gospel.
The album has a contemporary style with traditional gospel roots and music that will be enjoyed by all ages.
Alston has performed all over the world, with his smooth sophisticated soulful voice. He is the son of the Rev. J B Alston, and the nephew of the late legendary Johnny Fields, one of the founding members of the Grammy’s “Lifetime Achievement Award” Original Five Blind Boys from Alabama now called The Five Blind Boys.
Gerald is quick to say, that his faith in God, and his being blessed to be part of a musical family has made him who he is today. He adds, “God has been so good to me and I’ve always wanted to record a gospel CD. It’s my way of thanking God for all his many blessings upon my life.”
