Album Notes
In early 2005, a new band was formed that consisted of five
“Original-Era” members of the legendary southern rockers Molly Hatchet. Included were Bruce Crump (drums), Duane Roland (guitar), Steve Holland (guitar), Jimmy Farrar (vocals) and Riff West (bass). These talented musicians wrote and recorded all of Molly Hatchet’s gold and multi-platinum albums. Unquestionably, the members of GATOR COUNTRY were very instrumental in forging the legend of their earlier classic band’s sound with such songs as Flirtin’ With Disaster, Gator Country, Bounty Hunter, Whiskey Man, Beatin’ The Odds, Dreams I’ll Never See and many others.

Adding an old friend and seasoned guitarist, Linni Disse, the triple-guitar-attack was back with it’s unique and traditional sound that is now GATOR COUNTRY.

After debuting as GATOR COUNTRY for eighteen months, the band and it’s fans were devastated with the sudden loss of beloved friend and guitarist Duane Roland. Upon considerable thought, and with the blessing of Duane’s family, the band’s decision was to carry on in his memory. His “Flying V” guitar still proudly joins GATOR COUNTRY onstage at every performance.

While searching for a full-time guitarist, longtime friend and admirer of Molly Hatchet, Paul Chapman, offered to sit in. The legendary British rocker, formerly with UFO, who opened and headlined on many of the Hatchet tours, offered his services until a new guitarist was found. At the very first rehearsal, the beginning bars of “Beatin’ The Odds” were kicked off, and everyone knew right away that this wasn’t just temporary. It was clear that this unit rocked! The sound was just right, and everyone agreed; GATOR COUNTRY had just found their newest member.

Gator Country Live, the band's first CD, shows the raw, untamed power of the early Molly Hatchet classics performed as they once were. Loud and proud, the guitars scream while the drums relentlessly pound out the beat. And GRITZ Magazine maintains that, "Jimmy Farrar is one of the most powerful singers in Southern Rock. In fact, he may well sound the best he has ever sounded."

The members of GATOR COUNTRY are happy to be performing again for their fans, and are proud to offer legendary southern rock as it was intended!

The Best Molly Hatchet Since 1983
This CD is the best Molly Hatchet album since 1983's NO GUTS NO GLORY. Dave Hlubek did rejoin Bobby Ingram's Molly Hatchet for WARRIORS OF THE RAINBOW BRIDGE, and it's a great CD, but this one's even better. Let's hope Gator Country writes some new material of their own and records it on a studio album.

i have the molly hatchet double trouble live on cassette. i still listen to it.gator country i love your original sound. and i have to say the current molly hatchet is a farce.

Good Rockin!!
My CD is on its way, but I must say just listening to the samples provided by CD
Baby was more than enough to convince me
of one thing;

MH is back!!!!!!!

Thank you guys!!! As a guitar player myself, this
has inspired my playing. I was fortunate enough
to see DJB keepin' the dream alive in the 90's, and now the boys are back!!!

Jimmy Farrar - you sound amazing brother. What
a tribute to the true kings of Southern Metal

Keep Rockin',

Ed Glory-*

Duane and DJB - God Bless You both-*

Gator Country Beat the Odds!
I must admit I didn’t have highest of expectations for this album. Being a fan of Molly Hatchet since the early days I thought it would be a nice trip down memory lane to revisit some old tunes, but would somehow fall a little short. BOY WAS I WRONG! This album rocks from start to finish. This is way better than anything the so-called official Molly Hatchet has done the last 15 years or so. Jimmy Farrar sounds as good as he ever has and the band is very tight. My only complaint is it’s too short! I didn’t want the disc to end! Let’s hope this leads to a full studio album.

Thank you very much for playing these songs in such an excellent manner. And thank you very much for bringing back on record the fantastic guitar playing of Paul Chapman. If you like hot guitar playing, here it is!!!

Southern rock at it's best. Jimmy and the guy's sound just as good, if not better, as the old day's.Give it up Bobby this is as close to Molly Hatchet as you will ever see or hear.
