Album Notes
Gary Oakes began his career in professional theater when he was chosen by Richard Rodgers for a featured role in the New York revival of the Rodgers and Hart Musical
"The Boys From Syracuse." He later performed the role of Richard Henry Lee in the national and Broadway companies of the Tony Award winning musical "1776." He appeared in the off-Boadway production of "Shoemakers'Holiday" and in the pre-Broadway tour of the Richard Maltby and David Shire musical "Love Match" He was featured opposite Bernadette Peters in the musical "W.C." starring Mickey Rooney and sang a principal role in the American premiere of the London Musical,"Chrysanthemum." His many musical comedy credits include leading roles in "My Fair Lady,"with Douglas Fairbanks Jr., "Oklahoma," with Betty Buckley, "Promises,Promises" with Joanna Gleason and "The Pajama Game" with Soupy Sales. His TV appearances included a regular starring role in the NBC syndicated sitcom "Please Stand By."
Cuban born Lou Garcia, while an enlistee in the United
States Navy, spent his tour as featured vocalist with the
Navy Steel Band. Upon discharge, he pursued a career in mus-
ical comedy, appearing in the Broadway companies of "Illya
Darling" with Melna Mercouri and "Zorba" with Hershel
Bernardi. He appeared in the Las Vegas production of "Mame"
starring Juliet Prowse, and was seen in the role of Alberto
in the pre-Broadway tour of "W.C."
It was in that production of "W.C. that he first teamed
up with fellow cast member Gary to form the singing duo of "Gary Oakes and Lou Garcia." Their first engagement was at
the famous New York City's Rat Fink Room as the opening act
for the late comic Jackie Cannon. They then were called to Las Vegas where they were featured in the MGM Grand Hotel
spectacular, "Hallelujah Hollywood." They subsequently per-
performed in many of the Las Vegas lounge venues, and for many years were a featured act aboard the ships of many of the leading cruise ship lines.
Currently, they can be seen periodically performing in
concert venues in Las Vegas, singing pop standards and
Broadway show tunes in their unique vocal duo sound.

Loved it - selection was a perfect blending voices-songs
A beautiful mix of voices and songs. Well done. Music was just enough to enhance the vocalists. Good luck.

Wonderfully relaxing music, familiar songs, well done.
I found this CD to be very pleasant to listen to. Gary and Lou have magnificent voices and blend so well together. This CD would make a wonderful gift for someone special. I listened to it in my car over and over again. Thank you, Gary and Lou. Hope you record another CD soon.

Better than The Three Tenors
The blending of two splendid voices in a variety of magnificent songs puts it at the top of my listening list. There isnt much out there for those of us over 50 and Gary and Lou have made it posible for us to hear the songs that we can humm to and sing with. A supurb gift item too.
