Album Notes
The Friendly Fire is a collective of reggae DJs and Musicians based in Moseley, Birmingham, committed to providing fresh uplifting conscious music.

The CHUNKY 12” - the first official release on the Friendly Fire Music label - is a rootsy-urban-dancehall riddim on the verge of grime, with a conscious message, a squelchy bassline and a compulsively noddable beat. The Chunky 12” showcases three top ranking vocalists associated to the Friendly Fire Crew, who each bring their own flavor.

A1 - Ras Tweed – I Am That I Am

Ras Tweed has been relentlessly active on the European and International reggae and leftfield scenes in the past few years, working with the likes of Overproof Soundsystem, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Murray Man, Al Haca and Quantic. With \"I Am That I Am\" Ras Tweed reflects on his rasta roots and how we are all humble in front the Most High, and must work for improvement.

A2 – Pablo Rider – Jah Will Provide

Pablo Rider is a veteran DJ who joined the Friendly Fire troups after ten years of silence. From the 80\'s he has been one of the most acclaimed Djs in Birmingham alongside the likes of Pato Banton and Macka B, and has toured with UB40. Jah Will Provide is a song of encouragement, reminding that even in the darkest of times there is always hope, as Jah will always provide - which he relates in an original raggamuffin DJ storytelling style.

B1 – Tha Usual Suspec\' – Promises, Promises...

Formerly known as Paradox, Tha Usual Suspec\' is the most loved female MC in the Midlands. Raised as a rasta, her jamaican roots transpire through her Hip Hop flow. Her powerful lyrical content, her humility and her wit, mixed with her relentless flow, this lyric machine holds any crowd\'s attention. In Promises, Promises..., she describes the unfortunate event of one of her recordings being bootlegged by its producer – the downside of her outstanding talent.

B2 – Friendly Fire – Chunky Riddim

This is a straight instrumental version of the Chunky Riddim for good mesure - and also for soundsystems and MCs to use.
