Album Notes
Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Fred Pineau and The Ghost Flames debut cd is a romper stomper of old school rock and roll with a millineum edge. 2 pickups, 6 strings, and an attitude is a celabration of the influences that have lit a fire that is still burning strong.

Most at home in a packed club where they can "sense the sweat", the band throws off a blast of energy that is impossible to ignore. The adrenaline in the room builds as it passes from band to audience and back again, escilating as one feeds off the other. As the lead guitarist for Boston Old School/New Wave legends The Atlantics, Fred was firmly established in the New England area for his take no prisoners approach to playing the guitar. The Atlantics ABC Records album "Big City Rock" and the independently released "Lonelyhearts" have long since become collectors items. After extensive touring as the opening act for such artists as Roxy Music, Cheap Trick, The Ramones, and Prince, The Atlantics disbanded.

Now, along with The Ghost Flames, who include alumni of Peter Wolf and The House Party Five, Fred has returned after several years in retirement with this blistering musical statement. Never prone to going with the flow, Fred and The Ghost Flames issue forth music that willingly casts glimpses of influnces such as Link Wray, The Yardbirds, Rev. Horton Heat, and a varity of Chess Records artists. They won't be selling you a bill of goods, this is the real deal.

This is Fred Pineau and The Ghost Flames - they defy you to sit still while listening.

This CD rocks! Best of Boston IMHO.
"2 Pickups..." is an awesome CD from Fred Pineau. It is what rock and roll is all about. All the songs, originals and covers, show the true expertise on the guitar that Pineau has acheived after years of playing in some of Boston's best bands.

Rock the Way it was meant to be played !
Blistering ain't the word !! The music smokes! When you got it , you don't lose it....I've followed Pineau from the the Third Rail to the Syphloids ! The man sure can play guitar !

A wonderful combination of some great covers and original music. Pineau bring new enery to the classics "Psychotic Reaction" and "RoadRunner" ......and "Rattlesnake Bait" and "Too Much" are destined to become classics.

Music that will get you moving fer sure !!! Glad Pineau is unretired !!!
