Album Notes
Aydan Foster (Strings, Vox), Isaac Duke (Low End), and Max Minde (Skins) are a blistering young three piece out of Portland, Oregon. These guys are sophomores in high school that have been playing together since the fifth grade. These very formative years have bestowed upon them the DIY ethos that so defines the great Northwest. All that rain can get you down, but the rich musical history that is the Northwest's comes through in a band that bears the torch and continues in the tradition of its influences and inspirations.
They've developed quite a rabid following, having played proper shows for all these years. Some kid actually tattooed "Flight 91" on his arm before a show... probably shouldn't have used a mirror. All the kids basically go apesh*it when they hit the stage. Pounding out one of their originals or destroying a well loved cover, they exude an energy that at once shows defiance and sheer cathartic pleasure. Shirts have been torn and teeth have been chipped in the frenzy that generally accompanies their lively shows.
I sometimes refer to their music as "The Fettuccine Alfredo of Rock and Roll". It's comfort food for the ears. You know it's not necessarily good for you, but you know what to expect around the bend, it fills your senses, and leaves you satisfied. Plus it tastes reeaal good... This release, their first on Tribe From the Oasis Records, is a culmination of years of hard work, great skill, and a fanatic following that needed just a morsel to take home after the show to relive the experience: a frenzetic, maniacal teenage rockandroll love fest that left a few scars for the memories of a properly mis-spent youth.
From the high voltage get go to the last dying chirps of this album, you will be treated to the delights and desires, the anger and the angst, the cold dark days that seem like night to the sheer joy of rock and roll that is Flight 19. They shall not lose their mojo...
