Album Notes
It all began when Boogie Woogie Pianist Rob Perkin reached out to music producer Darren Clarke to restore an old recording. He had a cassette tape with a low-fi recording of him playing piano, some thirty years earlier in Naples, Florida! When Rob and Darren started working on this project, little did they know that a wonderful partnership would form and a powerful collection of great American Rock and Roll had begun...

Rob asked Darren to produce the music around the restored piano tracks, by adding drums, guitar, and bass to the original recording. What began was a rather unconventional project. The musicians were each on separate coasts of the United States. But twice a week they would work together over the phone and speak a language that few people know so well.

Rob’s passion, expertise, stories, and extraordinary insight, fueled Darren’s production prowess and great guitar talent. Together they’ve started to roll out the scores of tracks they had been working on. In 2018, Everglades Rhythm released Brookside Road Vol. 1, and 2019 will see the release of Vol. 2. The name, ‘Everglades Rhythm’ speaks to how Rob grew up visiting Naples, Florida, in the shadow of the Everglades. With the pure goal of making great music for people to enjoy, they will also pitch their tracks to film and television. In the summer of 2019, Everglades Rhythm will also release their podcast which tells the stories behind their songs and their approach to the unique sound they have created.

Along the way, Everglades Rhythm has been able to include a dream team in their creative process, featuring Elvis’s lead guitar player, James Burton on their version of ‘Mystery Train’, Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats on stand-up bass and the most recorded Horn player of all time, Jim Horn. Polishing the music was easy when taken to Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios for Mastering, and Grammy award-winning Robbie Burrell in Nashville TN.
