ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album in its entirety speaks volumes about our family. Songs born from the stories and characters that have moved in and out of our lives. Every song has a story. Deep roots and wide eyed wonder give breath to the songs we write. Songs of love and loss, pain and joy, home and country. We try to stay close to the truth despite the harshness of the tales we tell. With generations of artists and writers, singers and musicians paving the way, we want to honor them with the understanding of the price they paid to allow me to stand here and do what I love.
Buddy Miller was kind enough to join me on this album and that's about as big an honor as I could imagine. Those hero's who have allowed me a stage to sing on have gave me more than they know. Loretta Lynn, Marty Stuart, Emmylou Harris, Tanya Tucker, just to name a few, all have given me to courage to be myself come what may. I am not the star of today but I sure hope to shine a little light on yesterday. Roots tethered deep in the ground. I learned from Merle, From the house of Cash and the lonesome voice of Dr. Ralph Stanley... I hope someday to lead my generation to these icons who have filled my home with beautiful words and music.

"American Dream" is a marvelous album!
EmiSunshine is an extraordinary young artist and her new album, 'American Dream', really shines.
She is a delightful old soul, but her music is timely and refreshing. Call it: Americana, Roots, Folk, Gospel or Country ... doesn't matter ... The Future Belongs to Miss Emi Sunshine. She IS the Real Deal!
