First, thanks VERY much to the great Ned Evett for joining me on this song!
Like many Americans I’ve recently noticed something about our country… WE ARE BROKE! 18 trillion dollars in debt and not even trying to pay it back. Our politicians play games to distract us with two “teams”, but in reality neither side seems to care about what is right. They steal and squander more money than most of us can imagine, and then they let our returning soldiers starve or die. Both sides are only arguing over how much MORE they can borrow and spend. It’s not a team sport, it’s about the future of our country, and I’m concerned. There’s not much I can do but watch as our country continues to sink, so I wrote a song. I hope you like it, and I hope more Americans wake up and start questioning their leaders, from both parties.” - Ed Hornung (August 2015), Boise, ID.

Nailed it.
Ed hits the nail on the head squarely. Lying, huckstering, self-absorbed, narcissistic politicians are ruining the Land of the Free. There's nothing left to steal (except $18 Trillion of debt...Who wants that?). The only thing palatable about it all may be this song. The impeccable harmonies, simple melody and mellow feel are delightfully soothing. It doesn't make me not care, but, it does help me fight that overwhelming urge to go slap every member of Congress silly for what they have done to my grandchildren. Shame on them. Good on you, Ed for standing up to say what needs to be said in such a satisfying way.
