Battle Tunes and Ballads

by Drouthy Neebors

The journey to this, our first album, has been a truly enjoyable experience, involving collaborations with friends, fellow musicians, artists, and other bands. Through the stories and the tales told by the songs and their creators, we have reconnected with the history and rich traditions of Scotland, from Robert Burns to Dougie Maclean, from the past to the present. Many of the themes, whilst rooted in our nation’s past, have huge relevance in the present day. We hope you enjoy the end result - thank you for supporting us!

Album Notes
Drouthy neebors are a Scottish folk group, well established on the Edinburgh music scene. The Drouth, as they are affectionately known, play mainly Scottish and Irish traditional songs with blood-curdling aggression and attitude, soulful melodic expression, and everything in between. Humour and audience participation are key to the band's performances and, following the release of their first album ‘Battle Tunes and Ballads,’ the group are looking forward to expanding their musical footprint and enjoying the journey!
