I'm considered a Roots Americana Artist by most. My music is acoustic based and then often fused with other genres depending on which direction I chose to go. But it always starts with an acoustic guitar, and then blended with folk, rock, r&b or country.

Album Notes
Don Nivens is a singer/songwriter from the upstate of South Carolina. He recently released an LP of all original songs called, The Dog, The Cat, & The Mirror. He has been playing music for 39 years and writing for most of those years. Although he lands under the Americana Genre, He is widely considered a Fringe Artist that lands on the fringe from, country, folk, bluegrass to southern rock and even a classic rock sound. Last year his song, Septembers Gone was added to 60,000 Touch Tunes Juke boxes across the nation. This Year his song “Long Dark Road” was added to 60,000 Touchtune Juke boxes as well. It was released to radio thru all access, and is currently being played on 180 fm stations and has been streamed to over 6,000 internet stations in the us, Europe, and other country's. He worked closely with Buddy Strong in producing the album at Southeastern Sound Studios. His songs reflect a lot of life’s experiences, but often also reflect a lighter side with humor.
