Album Notes
Does your child have trouble drifting off to sleep? Mine do. You can help your child wind down and fall asleep with this critically acclaimed, top-selling and kid approved CD.

DidiPop (aka Deborah Poppink) has put out a wonderful children's music CD: "Bunny In The Moon: bedtime songs for falling asleep". This, her 3rd CD, is a “winding-down” CD that's designed for parents to help their child settle down and fall fast asleep. With 14 original songs that take a child through the bedtime routine, this CD features songs that start with a lilting energy and become more lulling as the album unfolds, meeting excited children at their energy level and soothing them to sleep. It was inspired by Deborah’s sometimes challenging experience of putting her own children to bed.

An award-winning songwriter and music teacher, Deborah Poppink’s resume includes placements in such film and TV projects as The X-Files, Jack and Jill and HBO’s True Blood. Deborah was “piano teacher to the stars” for 15 years, before she stopped teaching privately to raise her family. She embarked on her children’s music career in 2008 and now DidiPop music enjoys international popularity and has won numerous awards. Her songs have been licensed in Holland, Portugal, and Italy and she performs regularly in Los Angeles. Her DidiPopMusic Channel is one of the most widely watched on youtube (five million views).

On Writing-Recording: "As a busy mom, I am constantly on the go. When song ideas come to me in the Trader Joe's parking lot and under the full moon, I record them immediately on my iphone’s "voice memo" function. In between grilling cheese sandwiches and helping with homework, I pieced together the parts. I went to Nashville and recorded the basic tracks with producer Brad Jones (Jill Sobule, Josh Rouse). String-master Chris Carmichael laid down viola, violins and cello to orchestrate the latter half of the record and we recorded all 14 of the songs in five days. I added more layers back in L.A. and both my daughters sang lead parts, Delilah on "Brush Brush" and Hannah as the part of the old PJs on "My Old Pajamas”.

A Tour of the Album: “Kids start in the bathtub, in a doo-wop bubble fest, then head to the pajama drawer and then the tooth brush. After a wave goodnight to the moon and a love song for mommy, it's off to bed. With a shift in the music (track #5) the real lullabies begin. (The liner notes suggest that if your child is excited, start at track #1. If your child it relaxed, start at track #5.) Next? Songs about snuggles and books, the intimate relationship between a child and his/her “bukie” and a 4-part story/song resolving in a breathing meditation. The title track, "Bunny In The Moon", evokes a symbol of the ever-present mom looking after and loving her child (next time you look at the moon, look for the bunny and her big ears).

Musically, the album is filled with graceful melodies, warm layers of vocal harmonies and pianos. The songs are inspired by Brian Eno ("Bukie"), Enya ("Good Night My Love"),The Beatles ("Chloe in the Clouds"), Musical Theater ("Brush Brush") and classical piano ("Little Star", "Oceans of Love (Dream)".

Bunny In The Moon will be available at www.didipop.com, iTunes and CD Baby as are her previous children’s music CDs, DidiPop Goes To Hawaii and Everyday Adventures.
