Album Notes
Dhaivat Raj has been a luthier, musician, composer, producer, teacher and sitarist since 1986, as well as introducing the authentic Indian sitar in Brazil through classical recitals, fusions, recordings, workshops, classes and formation of new sitarists. Descended from a family of traditional musicians, he learned to play guitar as a young man. In 1980 he began to study music and oriental culture.

      In the 1980s, he began his studies in Indian Classical Music under the guidance of Meeta Ravindra, his godmother, an Indian singer based in Brazil. He studied ragas and Indian instruments such as sitar, surbahar and rudra veena at the famous Gandharva Mahavidyalaya music school in Delhi.

       A disciple of gurus such as Ravi Shankar and Jagdeep Singh Bedi, he was honored by the Indian government in 1997 for his musical talent and for spreading Indian sitar and Indian music in Brazil. Raj is dedicated to musical fusions, which led him to international concerts in India, London, Egypt and Jordan. Throughout its musical career formed bands between them, Shivala, Saraswati, Kailash and Jatobhakti.

       He recorded two solo CDs: "The Onkhenatom Mystic" (MCK Multimedia, 1996), sitar musical compositions, oriental flute and mantra on the New Age line. "SolariOM Relaxing World Music" (MCK Multimedia, 2011) with sitar, tampura, tabla, moringas, oriental flute, harp, viola and guitar to the sound of nature.


      Presented recitals in important theaters such as in the National Theater of Brasília and the Municipal Theater of São Sebastião-SP, among others.

- 3rd International Egypt and Jordan Yoga Festival- 2008 (Cairo and Petra),
- Nile Night's Boat, Boat Nights on the Nile with Indian boarder Nitin Mitta (Cairo, 2008),
- Mena House (Cairo, 2008), at the "Marriott Resort" (Amann and Petra, 2008).

          Currently develops techniques of arrangements for the fusion of this beautiful instrument with Brazilian Music. And also elaborating Indian musical arrangements, spreading them with Rock, Mpb, Blues, Jazz, Andean, African, Reggae, Music Lounge, Flamenco and Gypsy, Medieval, Egyptian and Arab Music for belly dancing, Contemporary Ballet, New Age and World Music.
         Also performs sitar arrangements in the Chinese style for Tai Chi Chuan, Zen for Yoga and Power Yoga, alien sounds, intergalactic for ufology, sidereal and transcendental for meditation.
