State of Fairs

by Dennis J. Leise

The overreaching theme of the record is this: Everyone is trying so hard to make it, that they have lost track of the fact that what they are trying to make it at, is garbage. From the sublime to the ridiculous across a host of styles, something for all.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Dennis is a rabid consumer of music. He's also a thinker. This record, his first solo full length release, showcases his breadth and depth of musical influences and capabilities as well as his wit and barbs against that for that which he is weary of in music and in the world.

Billed thematically as "Everyone is trying so hard to make it, that they lose track of the fact that what they are trying to make it at, is shit.", he pulls no punches from the sublime to the ridiculous. Stylistically spot on (With superb musicianship and lyrics.) Some ideas include: A Gospel Song for Atheists. A Blues Song about being tired of the blues. An Americana Song about his distaste for the genre. A song he claims as "The Future of Country Music" about a hapless guy who's autonomous truck drives away with his wife. These are just a few of the ideas. Few sacred cows are spared. It is glorious and damn catchy.

You will laugh and if you aren't careful, you'll also do some thinking yourself. It is the record that America, nay, the world needs now more than ever.
