ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
'Songs The Jukebox Taught Me, Volume 2' represents a continuing journey back to the songs that made me fall in love with classic country music. Together with the previous 'Songs The Jukebox Taught Me' project, this collection of classic songs is a tribute to the songwriters who crafted them, and the artists who sang them — the heroes and teachers who taught me this music. The jukeboxes that held these songs were, and are, the best textbooks I could ever hope to have. The lessons learned shaped me as a singer and songwriter. They are priceless to me, and I hope the folks who listen to this album will treasure them as well.

“I've often said anyone can trace a picture... it takes a true artist to paint one. Dallas Wayne is an artist, because he takes these old songs and paints them in a totally different light from the way the jukebox originally taught him. My song, 'Tips Of My Fingers,' for example, has never been recorded outside of a waltz tempo until now. And it shines... as do all the others... in the hands of a true artist.” ~ Whisperin' Bill Anderson, Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame.

“I’m really enjoying listening to this new CD 'Songs The Jukebox Taught Me, Volume 2' by Dallas Wayne. Great job on an old song of mine called 'Blame It On The Times.' Thanks for bringing this one back! Also, I love the Vern Gosdin cover, 'Is It Raining At Your House.' Remember our motto: If It Ain’t Broke, Break It.” ~ Willie Nelson.

“Dallas Wayne has the unique ability to make new or old songs his own. Tommy Collins’ “High On A Hilltop” is no exception. Masterful!” ~ Johnny Bush.
