Dennis Young - Dennis is best known professionally as the outstanding marimba/percussionist for the legendary early 80’s NYC band “Liquid Liquid”. They had a major impact on hip-hop and dance music. Rick Coffee -Rick is a New Jersey native whose musical pathway began to unfold when he was recruited to sing at a local church choir when he was in 4th grade. He got his first guitar and learned his way around the six strings when he was 14 years old. He went on to study music formally in college using his voice as his major instrument to accompany his guitar and piano playing. As a singer/song writer, Rick has written numerous songs. His recent CD release, The Dream Is Real: A Musical Reflection, is an acknowledgment of his musical talent as a singer and song writer.

Dennis and Rick first met back in the early 1980s when they started playing together as Spontaneous Combustion with Dennis on drums, Rick playing guitar, keyboards and vocals and Matt Feinberg on bass guitar. The band roster and name changed and it became know as Physical Traces with John Romanowski playing bass guitar. Although they never recorded an album back then, their music was very progressive and quite good. Now Dennis and Rick are back together again on The Nebula Project: In Search of Converging Sounds.

Otherworldly ethereal soundscapes!
This CD is for those looking for something very versatile and rhythmic, in terms of electronic music. It has elements of tribal sounds and guitars here and there, also the rhythm is strong throughout.
After hearing it one time (deep listening) it didn't quite grab me instantly, fair enough. But after the 3rd listening the music began to develop/grow inside of me, and I have to say that now, as I write this, I am in love with it!.

The music is built and structured very well, with ethereal guitar playing throughout the CD, and it comes with some extremely satisfying melodies, as well as lots of tribal sounding soundscapes ala Bob Holroyd. Not one track sounds like the other. It's very difficult to say exactly to whom this record will suit best, as it has a very 'special' EM style when it all comes down. But for those who wants more of Patrick Kosmos, Bob Holroyd and Dreamaiden, there can only be one important thing to say to them. This is definetely for you, a must buy!
