ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Chris Christopher is a songwriter/recording artist crafting songs in the San Francisco Bay Area. Born in Honolulu, HI, Chris moved back and forth from the islands to Northern California frequently during his childhood. All this traveling made a Walkman and headphones essential for everyday life, and music remains an important part of Christopher’s being today. Chris Christopher is set to release his debut album “Tunes for Thought”, which is sure to leave a meaningful mark on the Hip-Hop community.
After recording songs at home and school for a few years, Chris Christopher decided it was time to get serious about a studio album. After throwing ideas around – more than likely while enjoying a nice brew – the title for the project was born, “Tunes for Thought”. The idea has since grown to a twelve track album, all original lyrics and beats, currently in the mastering process. Not to mention the comic book like, Rasta themed, hand-drawn album artwork that is awesome in its own right! Equipped with a solid arsenal of songs, Chris Christopher is excited for live performances and touring opportunities – eager to share these Bay Area based tunes worldwide.
Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA has played a huge role in the development of Chris Christopher’s album “Tunes for Thought”, as well as in his career all around. Chris has earned a Certificate of Achievement in the Music Industry Studies program, as well as a Certificate of Completion in the Pro Tools 101 Audio Engineering course. More importantly, taking courses at D.V.C. has led Chris to find some key players for his music team. In early 2010, Chris linked up with now close friend and producer Rece tha Beast, who is responsible for majority of the beat production on “Tunes for Thought”. In fact, only one beat used on the album was crafted by a different producer: Thomas Cantu, who also attended D.V.C. and played live drums and bass guitar for various tracks on “Tunes for Thought”.
With a duo album in the works with Rece tha Beast, as well as his second solo album already started, “Tunes for Thought” is just the beginning for Chris Christopher. Interested in the many aspects of the arts – writing and recording his own original music, as well as helping others produce and engineer their own music – Chris is on the path to a healthy career in the business. Chris Christopher’s debut album “Tunes for Thought” features guest appearances from Bay Area Hip-Hop legends Mike Marshall, Equipto, and Berner; who will Chris work with next?
