Battle Cry - free download, thoughts
Track was very well done, had a good bass undertone and the entire track was well worth the listen. If there is anything I found off, it was the minor echoing in the background (I have very good sound equipment and can hear audio defects) that was garbling some of the sound. This is a worthy track to pick to have someone want to sample the rest of the album. The vocals had a bit of a haunting effect which I like and went well with the overall feel of the track. I would recommend this track to people I know. Can't give you a 5-star rating because of the weird audio defects, but I think an average listener wouldn't even notice.

Fav Char Mar Album To Date
I’ve been listening to Char Mar since the Veins EP came around and fell in love with her albums and seeing her live. “Water Breaks Stone” though, is my favorite album of hers so far. I love the story telling, each song is a chapter in this book about a fight, betrayal, what happens when you part from your loved one, waiting, coming back together, working things out, maybe not working some things out, turning to God in the end because sometimes he’s the only one there for you. (Who knows maybe these are not actual events that happened but they live in the music for me.) Not only is the story easy to relate to if you've ever been in love, but Charlotte is true in her music. She puts it all out there and doesn't lie about what her music is about (like some of my other favs) or mask the harsh realities of love, life, and all the troubles that come her way. So, the story is great. But also, each song is a masterpiece. I don’t know much about the technicalities of music, I just know that it sounds great. There are some serious stand outs for me: Spine, Water Breaks Stone, Battle Cry, Science and Love, Gravity and Fearfully and Wonderfully Made. The mixing is fantastic. The layers. Just excellent all around. This albums hasn't left my player since it came out. You know you've been listening a lot when you’re kids know the words. I’m thankful for the comfort and connection with this album ~ and what a great worship song at the end (good Christian music is hard for me to find.) This review is a whole lot of rambling but bottom line: A+ Album.
