Album Notes
Shira Hime Ryu is music composed by Cesar Davila-Irizarry (American Horror Story) to accompany the dance piece with the same name by New York based butoh dance performer Yokko. This music is an intense and creeping journey into and from the animalistic needs that fulfill desire. An experience that transforms musical instruments into ferocious cries of struggle and the sounds of objects and animals into harmonies that rip your soul into the pieces that make up the collage of our intimate joy and pain.

César Dávila-Irizarry left his homeland of Puerto Rico to develop his own artistic voice in the world of sound art and electronic music. After accumulating over a decade of experience as a sound designer in Hollywood, and winning multiple music awards, he is now focused on his sonically adventurous music. It is his fearless way of composing that has made critics describe him as a "mad genius" (Empire Online). César's blend of sound design and music is said to "speak to us on an unconscious level" (Huffington Post).

All of the music was written, performed, designed, programmed, and mixed by César Dávila-Irizarry
