ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Alfie Capers

Alfie Capers, international star and recording artist, performs his solo act with tributes to the legendary voices of Lou Rawls and Barry White. Alfie is a former member of famous recording groups, The Main Ingredient ("I Just Don't Wanna Be Lonely," "Everybody Plays the Fool") and The Platters ("Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "Great Pretender," "Only You"). He has worked with many of the great artists, including Sammy Davis, Jr. who loved his talents and compared his vocal sound to the great Lou Rawls. His sound is universal and appeals to a broad spectrum of generations exciting the young and the old. You can purchase his music through Alfie Capers Productions today!

Mr. Capers does a fantastic rendition of tunes honoring the great late Lou Rawls. When he sings "Lady Love," his rich baritone-bass sound would "melt butter". His artistry is a performance that brings out the deepest emotions. When he performs "You'll Never Find," you would affirm and image that Lou Rawls is still with us. Alfie Capers "keeps Lou Rawls alive."

Mr. Capers also performs other great voices. His exciting bass tones create a smooth rendition of a collection of Barry White songs. He also demonstrates his remarkable abilities to create the voices of other greats like Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Arthur Prysock, and Tony Bennett.

Capers, with his eloquent, smooth vocal style, returns to the United States from an extended tour of Europe, which included Spain, Paris, and Amsterdam, as well as a stop in Canada. While in Europe, he received critical acclaim and rave reviews for his performances. His audiences loved him.

Alfie Capers has worked extensively in the United States and abroad. He worked both as a soloist and member of the groups, "The Platters," and "The Main Ingredient." He performed in some of the leading nightclubs in New York City, Chicago, Atlantic City, and Atlanta, Georgia. In New York, he touched the hearts of audiences at Birdland, Rodney Dangerfield's, Sweetwaters and more. He performed at Chicago's Club Playboy and Washington's Blues Alley and fascinated audiences in Baltimore's Woodstock, Bird Cage, and throughout the United States.

Alfie Capers's gifted voice is supported by the wonderful spirit that brings it. His philanthropic view of our need to help our fellowman inspired him to produce and entertain at various benefits. In Atlantic City, he produced and entertained at a benefit for a teenage cancer patient which included Sammy Davis, Jr. and George Kirby. It is this spirit and heart that comes through this talented voice to touch your soul.

Mr. Capers is also an accomplished producer, writer, and recording artist. His theme song for the benefit, "Let The Baby Smell The Flowers," is timely for today and demonstrates the substance of his writing talents. His single release, "Lady Be Good to Yourself" and other hits such as "On A Sunny Day," are a testament to his vocal recording and writing skills.

Alfie Capers has an extensive background. He was trained at New York Academy of Theatrical Arts and Al Fann Black Ensemble. Born in New York City, Alfie started singing as a child at the age of 9. His father, a trumpeter, formed and managed a family group, "The Capers Quartet," which consisted of Alfie, his two sisters, and a brother. The group played countless shows with "the greats of yesterday," such as, The Drifters, The Supremes, and Jackie Wilson. His skills and disciplines include singing, acting, songwriting, and karate master.

It is no wonder that Alfie Capers excites and captivates his audiences and has become known as the voice that would "melt butter."
