what a surprise!
A friend of mine called my attention today to CDbaby.First of all I am amazed how good it works, what a range of rare quality music you can get here! Then, about Bocca: this album is simply superb! A delicious psychadelic flavour with roots of blues and original rock, a real nice crossroad of moods! Congratulations! I definitely suggest for anyone who is looking for elevating the soul. This is my first buy. Damn good, simply love it!

A definite buy!
I bought this album under the heading of piano blues on CDbaby. It is different than expected but also much more complex and certainly more than expected. I was hoping for some dinner mood music (it would fit that bill) but got something that I would listen to in any environment. The kind of music that induces conversation if with friends or thought if alone.

under your skin
That's where you're going to find this CD. Then it'll get in your blood. This is truly amazing! Smooth, deep vocals and excellent musicianship combine for a memorable listening experience. Interesting genre-switching, too (love the shift from Medina Quaboos to A Mover and a Shaker). This one is certainly getting a lot of repeat play! And it sounds sexy, too!

A very powerful release......
Cd Baby has turned me on to many bands in the past, but Bocca is by far my favorite.I have listened to this cd everyday, at least twice, since I received it. The music is increasingly powerful everytime I hear it. Do yourself a favor and buy this, support this band. And to the band, when is the next release coming out?

To start off, they're self-described as, "smoldering, gloom-drenched intensity, and stuck somewhere between Filbert Street and Filmore West." Their dry, hanging, desolate vocals and liquidy, electronic/acoustic instrumentation, complete with what they like to call "spooky keyboards," violin, and drums, makes for an almost film score-like moodiness coupled with the grit of rock. Don't be surprised if their sound stirs up memories of Donnie Darko, Nightmare Before Christmas and then spins your head with a suprising jaunt into a Doors flashback, followed by jagged riffage. This is an album that goes way beyond genre. Give it a listen. It's the perfect Winter Moooood Music.

A Fantastic Album!
It's all about the mood with Bocca, sometimes it's sinister, sometimes it's uplifting, and there's more happening on each track than most bands manage on an entire album. This album is an absolute gem. Stand out tracks include the wonderfully dark 'caged', the dirty, late-night blues groove of 'street theatre', and the out and out rock of 'a mover and a shaker'. The songs all have a certain vibe which draws you in and leaves you emotionally exhausted. A well produced sound and finely crafted songs make this an album really worth listening to.
