Album Notes
“I met them long ago. The sun was in the sky and we were in a field of glass in the middle of America, a field of concrete and angels smacking their lips against the inimitable light of day. To one, I said his name warmly as I had learned it. To the other, I spoke of the private yearnings of a universe costumed in daggers.

Car horns blared all around, and I thought of the possession of stars, the immediacy with which we all must knife through each our vast containments. In the near glade, a red tree swiveled. The lake breeze echoed nothing loudly.”

This was the day that a man who’d hung his worldly wealth on the power of his words persuaded us to organize our ideas into a record. With guitars and drums, we knifed through what containments we could in the time we had. Erin, Wisconsin. 2013-2016.

The same man came to us in the summer of ‘16 and suggested that we release what we made. Believing that a release would undo what’d been done, we disagreed. The man with the right words had his way.
