Album Notes
Highly talented, energetic and passionate may not fully describe Blessing Chimanga. He is a drummer, marimba player, singer and songwriter from Zimbabwe. At only 24 years he is rated one of the fastest growing musicians in Zimbabwe as he has traveled, performed and done workshops across the world in countries such as Italy, Sweden, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Tanzania, Mozambique, Argentina, Brazil, Austria, Turkey, Egypt and the USA.
When the name Blessing Chimanga is mentioned it is not only synonymous with big dreams but a big heart as well.

In 2015 he released his first solo album titled “DREAMS”. The 8-track album, composed and arranged by Blessing himself is an album full of energy, emotion and passion. The diverse album features guest musicians from all over world who have worked with Blessing over the years.

"The album is my personal testimony and encouragement to others that truly dreams can become a reality. I thank God for the ability to release this album that tells my personal story in a very sweet, touching, rhythmic and melodic way."

Some of the guests on the album include :
1.Zimboita (Zimbabwe and Italy music collaboration)
2.Barry Likumahuwa (Bass player from Indonesia)
3.Estaban Copete (Saxphone Colombia)
4.Alex Asher and Seth Paris (USA)
5.Dudu Manhenga (Zim)
6.Baba Shupi (Zim)

This is one great album that has a variety of music styles from Casablanca, Jazz, Rhumba and pure Zimbabweam traditional grooves.

Track 1 - MaruvaEnyika (flowers of the world)
Maruvaenyika is an amazing song that features my international collaboration with Italian musicians from our project titled ZIMBOITA. The song has a sweet Casablanca feeling that will get you dancing and thinking of your loved one. The inspiration behind this song is simply, that there is always this one important person in your life and you will do anything and everything to catch their attention. Among all the many flowers there is the one special one for you.

Track 2 - Hold on to your dreams (TITLE TRACK)
This is one of the deepest songs i have ever written. The song is a personal encouragement to keep holding on to my dreams and see them becoming reality. I wrote it when I was going through a phase in my life and i was about to give up on music and my career. Writing this song was a clear sign that music is just not a job for me but it is my passion, my life and a gift that i received from God. The song clearly states that it is only GOD who allows dreams to become reality. I have total faith that this song will give hope to someone and many will pursue their dreams and see them become reality after listening to it.

Track 3 - Joy In my Heart
I wrote this song when i was deeply in love with someone...... It is a song inspired by a girl who i really loved and i still love today. It talks about the impact she had in my life and all the memories we shared. After everything is said and done she truly gave me love that brought so much joy in my heart. This is the first love song i ever wrote and every word on that song came from the deepest part of my heart. I have dedicated it to all the lovers across the world. The song lyrics are in Shona, English and Ndebele.

Track 4 - "Tirivanhu Vamwe"
I wrote this song as a song of peace, to encourage peace and happiness across the world. It is one song that i would like to send as my voice to see this world becoming a better place. It is a special song featuring an amazing Indonesian brother Mr BARRY LIKUMAHUWA on Bass guitar.

Track 5 " Ngoma Yekwedu"
This is one energetic song that features my friend and brother BabaShupi an amazing energetic Zimbabwean musician. An explosive combination of energy. The song with a traditional feel to it will get you dancing and make u think of "kumusha"(home). The inspiration behind this song is very simple, we just want to see people dancing and enjoying themselves.

Track 6 - Vanochengeta"
This is a song i wrote on a flight going back home to Zimbabwe after an international tour. It struck me how blessed i was that God was keeping me safe despite all the dangerous plane crashes that were happening at that time. It was also very strong in my heart that many of my age have died young, before they even experience what life is, but he is still faithful to keep me alive and open all these international opportunities for me.

Track 7 - "We are family"
This is the first song i ever wrote in my life, back in the days when i was in school. The song speaks about how together we can make it and how we need each other in this life. The inspiration behind the song was just to encourage people that united we stand and divided we fall. It encourages us to join hands and stand as one, fight as one and see ourselves going forward. It is also an encouragement that there is hope for you and me so keep going forward and we will make it together. It is a very slow sweet jam featuring my blood sister the songbird Dudu Manhenga an international acclaimed Jazz singer and songwriter from Zimbabwe.

Track 8 - Instrumental
Sometimes when words fail you, you then just come up with instrumentation like this one. Truly when words fail music still speaks.
