ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The band was founded in 1997 to honour the Irish and Scottish soldiers of the St. Patrick’s Battalion that fought alongside Mexico in the 1846-48 war of Intervention.

Being the first and only Pipe Band in Mexico the band’s mission is to spread and promote Bagpipe Music in Mexico. With this in mind the band takes part in many important cultural and music festivals all over the country and overseas including the International Celtic Festival in Lorient, France and the Piping Live Festival in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Band has participated in the World Pipe Band Championships held in Scotland as well as the North American Pipe Band Championships in Canada.

Band members have also played in the prestigious Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo held at Edinburgh Castle in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The band has also recorded with legendary Irish Musicians The Chieftains and are featured in their album San Patricio.

In 2013 the Band was inducted in the Irish Wall of Fame in the Dunbrody Centre in New Ross Ireland.

In June 2018, the band had the honour of playing Flower of Scotland at the Massive Aztec Stadium in Mexico City for the friendly match between Mexico and Scotland.
