Album Notes
LA studio wiz Boris Elkis gave into his alter ego "Boris Badenuff" to feed his musical dementia. He teamed up with rocker Doug Deep to come up with a brand of electronica with enough balls to satisfy rock and electronic crowds. They set out to liquefy all that's rock and electronic. Spirit of rock was melted and fused with machines. Barriers were torn down and a new breed was born. Boris Badenuff effortlessly blends a myriad of genres and draws you into his world with a keen sense of style, chaos, and irony. Boris Badenuff's rock-fused electro-hybrid is in a genre of its own, with trance-like magnetism, slamming grooves, and mind-bending twists beginning to describe it. Industial, Rock, Big Beat and Electronica fans should should check it out.

Pumping beats, thick driving bass, airtight wall of sound
The description on the CD Baby page could not be more on the mark: Moose and Squirrel be afraid, because Boris has acheived his stated goal.

If you like alternative rock flavored electronic beats, you will like this a lot.

I had heard "Bad Habit" and it struck me immediately as a powerful blend of the finest modern alternative and electronic influences. All of the tracks on this disc feature well constructed hard hammered beats in an industrial setting, with vocals ranging from manically soaring to underground gritty.

If the idea of NIN meets Audioslave meets VNV Nation appeals to you, Fearless Leader demands you get this disc, grab Natasha and get dancing...

and then go get Moose and Squirrel.

Fantastic Performance
Fantastic Tracks from a well crafted performer.

I first heard some of Boris’s creations on, and it really peeked my interest. Great tension in his work, much like the Chemical Brothers, but more exciting. I find myself constantly popping the disk in the CD player in the car, and it’s always in the iPod rotation.

The music is engaging and well performed. Each track truly takes your mind and body to another place. This is an artist that I expect to find in all the clubs, and in every ear for some time to come.

Don’t miss this experience.

Creative and well-done, with character, spark and twist
By spirit, this music goes hand in hand with the Aphex Twin's Drukqs; by sound - with the likes of NIN, Meat Beat Manifesto and other top electronic/rock/goth kings. As far as originality is concerned, Badenuff has his own charisma and form going - which is rare right now on the electronic and rock market. Since the last interesting NIN album Fragile that came out, I think, in 1999, very little new truly refreshing and interesting music has been released, worthwhile on the market to simply listen to - on the heavy electronic side. Again, there of course exceptions (mostly coming from Island and Europe), but there are no more than 10 or so of them. And to me, Boris Badenuff's music falls into the category of those good exceptions.

Badenuff, while projecting a very commercial sound on the surface, and really great impeccable production, also brings a load of great ideas and a character that is consistent throughout the tracks that I've heard so far. Also note that according to the info on his website, he is Russian by origin, which gives me an additional hope that with this debut we'll see a new artist with non-standard creative approach to the music emerge out of the thin realms of new electronica, mixed with the depth that's always been associated with the most known artists of all genres (with few exceptions) that have originated in Russia. Brian Eno has not worked with several groups there for nothing, including the legendary Zvuki Mu - which, by the way, if you know at least remotely, will also sound as if they have made their reflection on Boris Bedenuff's material: endless irony in indirect yet groovy or sexy form.

This album is a MUST BUY for anyone who wants to hear the future of electronic m
Boris Badenuff has taken this often repetitive and simpe genre to the next level. He has creatively found ways to incorporate more mature compositional devices such odd time sigatures and innovative parallel chord progressions harmoniously with the standard conventions of sampled materials and big break beats. This album is a MUST BUY for anyone who wants to hear the future of electronic music (for thoose of us who aren't always on drugs when we listen to it)! Boris Badenuff is a unique talent in this often formulaic and mundane world of Electronica please support the future of this music and BUY THIS ALBUM!

Great, genre-defining album.
Deep Break-Tech seems to be an accurate label for this genre-defining album. "Machismo" is truly a melting pot of many different styles of music. There are modernized Goa ARP lines, prog rock structures, dark trance melodies, big beat breaks and much more to make your head spin and your body move. If you are a fan of The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers or Crystal Method, then this is the album for you. Start listening to this now and you will be able to tell all of your friends that you listened to Boris BadEnuff before his name was synonymous with Techno. This album pwns!
