Audio Fiction

by Audio Fiction

Audio Fiction delivers pop/rock at its best, blending melodic hooks and shrewd lyrics with dynamic solid rock to create their catchy songs. They’ve been compared to Blondie and No Doubt, but they’re more like the resulting bastard step-child of both.

Album Notes
Audio Fiction (self titled) – Liminal Records

Official US release date: March 2009

Produced by Darren Korb
Mixed by Jon D’Uva
Mastered by Hans Dekline

The album was recorded in a number of small studios between the fall of 2007 and the Spring of 2008 in New York City.

Their sound combines a "Garbage meets No Doubt" rock hybrid but they prefer their music as “offering you cotton candy and then kicking you in the teeth, all while you’re dancing.”

“The power-pop act embraces the best of '90s-style pop-rock” – Maxine Shen, New York Post

“New York pop-rock band Audio Fiction ….. rose to fame with its "Garbage meets No Doubt" sound and energetic live shows. Fans love the band's catchy riffs, unique guitar solos and deceptively serious lyrics” – New York Daily News

“This band has an attitude of NYC-sized proportions and that makes their able-to-dance-to pop punk music a winner” - The Aquarian Weekly

“They put on a kick-ass live show!” - Gothamist

Stunning Debut Album
This album sounds brilliant, to put it simply. The production and mastering are top notch; creating a full, smooth sound with no potholes. The lyrics are clever, original and moving: the music the same; unique yet still feeling bang up to date and leaving you itching to know how the band can replicate the same energy on stage. The album grabs your attention from the second you hit play and holds it right until the end with a great closer. No padding on this album; it went without and leaves you wanting more. That, perhaps, being my only criticism. I wanted it longer.

Audio Fiction
I loved it!! I'm not a musician, but I know what I like and this is great. I've known Kristin for a number of year and am so proud of her and Audio Fiction. Run to your nearest music store or buy it here (on-line)! You won't regret it. Enjoy!!!

Face-melting guitar, chic retro vox and plenty of punky \'tude
One day in New York City, Garbage and No Doubt fell into a rusted blender from the \'80s. Present your glasses, boys: here\'s the smoothies in Audio Fiction, eagerly awaiting consumption by your ears. Double X chromosome swagger and Siouxsie peek-a-boos tag team the slick, and at times face-melting guitar, such as on the Hendrixian octave madness of standout \"Kite High\"\'s soaring licks. The evident passion in the Richard Hellish breakdown in \"Race the Hourglass\" smacks of Girlfriend-era Matthew Sweet, a delicious reminder of times when it was still cool to take a guitar solo. Impossible not to groove to, Audio Fiction clearly know what they\'re doing as performers, and the tunes speak for themselves. Fans of Shirley Manson\'s early work in Angelfish would certainly get a kick out of these cats, as well as anyone who loves catchy, female-fronted rock-pop-punk-et-al with personality.
