Album Notes
Alex Teller (Born: Jan 1st 1994 ) is a young singer-songwriter and musician. He was first inspired to pursue music after the passing of his grandfather on March 18th, 2006. This tragic experience emotionally and mentally affected Alex, inspiring him to pick up the acoustic guitar. He later began playing the harmonica and drums after graduating from high school in 2012. In 2013, Alex moved from New York to Lansing, Michigan where he embarked on his music career. Alex has been playing music, singing and songwriting for nearly ten years now and continues to expand his knowledge of new instruments. Teller’s songs explore several genres with a variety of playing styles that cover sounds ranging from Blues, Country, Folk, and Bluegrass all the way to Rock, Swing, and Jazz. Alex’s music is influenced by many great songwriters including Neil Young, Bob Dylan, David Crosby, George Harrison, John Prine, Johnny Cash, and Paul Simon to name a few.

Alex has quite the repertoire of songs with nearly 50 original tunes; each one written with passion and carried with poise. His music possesses a poetic tone sounding off a plethora of lyrics expressing deeply emotional themes. Teller’s smooth, smokey vocals pair well with his warm, rich harmonica and raw, buttery guitar playing to generate an ingenious audible experience. His writing portrays a cleverly sarcastic and humorous attitude with an eloquent deliverance of literary devices such as rhyme, symbolism, metaphor, and hyperbole. Alex’s tunes tell tales and stories of both truth and fable, often influenced by personal experience. His songs include characters who may be real or fictional, while also referencing iconic names from literary history. He has been performing music for eight years now, exploring many venues throughout Michigan and the east coast.
