Album Notes
AghonyA is a Chilean Female Fronted Rock Band.

Founded on 2004 as a group of friends who just played music for fun. Since 2006 and after a few changes on the band members, AghonyA started to compose the first Studio album called Oxygen.

The debut album Oxygen was recorded and produced by AghonyA in Santiago de Chile, so it is a 100% independend CD. You will find powerfull songs with strong lyrics which are a reflection of human race’s decay and society’s abominations along with the disasters that we are causing to the Earth with our conducts, and you will also find beautifull songs with very personal lyrics.

Through the last years, AghonyA has played on the most popular venues in Chile, including opening acts for very important bands like After Forever (2005), Within Temptation (2008) and Edguy (2009).

On these days, the band is promoting their first album, filming the first video clip for the song Lead me into You (trailer coming soon) and playing live!

Awesome cd by up and coming band from Chile!
AghonyA fronted by Cati Victoria Torrealba hail from Chile, and 'Oxygen' is an amazingly strong release considering there is no real label support here. Melodic Gothic Metal with subtle touches of Electronica is how I would describe this record, and anybody that likes After Forever, Evanescence or Within Temptation will do no wrong here when it comes to parting with your hard earnt cash. I mentioned After Forever, and I must say I find stunning similarities between 'Lead Me Into You' from 'Oxygen' and 'Energize Me' from After Forever's self titled album from 2007. However, by and large, 'Oxygen' is an awesome album that has some very catchy songs including 'How Can I', a ballad 'One Last Lullaby' and crunching rockers including 'Finding Eternity'. Choruses here that you find will be swimming around inside your head for ages. Occasionally a release comes along that not only surprises me, it takes the wind out of my sails aswell. This is one such record - excellent production too. Take a trip to www.myspace.com/aghonya and find out for yourselves.

Love it!
I fell in love with "Lead Me Into You" because it reminded of a song by Bloodflowerz mixed with Xandria and Lunatica. "Wish You Gone" is my favorite song; it mixes elements of orchestra and symphony with metal beats. I just wish the mp3 version came with a txt file of the lyrics. Chile seems to produce a lot of good female fronted metal bands.

Well i didnt know what to expect,as an avid colector of female fronted bands, over 650 different in my collection,i thought i would give this a try,and what a little gem it is,its hard to pick out a favourite track,as the whole album is really put togther well,a really lovely piece of work,i would rate it 9 out of 10,and its now in my top 20 favourite albums, well done you guys.i hope the second album is more of the same stuff,,i will be looking out for the follow up,
