Note Worker

by Frank Gambale

Gambale on the smooth jazz side on his 5th album. Some beautiful guitar work throughout, as we have come to expect from a guitar virtuoso pioneer. Also featured are some wonderful vocal songs in the vain of Steely Dan. 5 stars.

Album Notes
Lunar Rotation, the album's opening track was so titled jokingly by Gambale when he said, "there's heavy rotation on the radio, light rotation, medium rotation and then there's Lunar Rotation which is when they spin the track at 4 am". As it turned out, this track got heavy rotation on may radio stations when it was released. Today it still gets a lot of airplay. One of Gambale's more romantic albums yet it contains some wonderful fusion classics such as High 5 with it's "time stands still" solo, and the song Schmooze with Gambale soaring on the fade. 5 stars.

Mr. Fuse

Good album
I really liked this album. The first song is a real kicker and gets you going. A few of the others such as Calafia and Stay With Me are nice jazz-pop songs with romantic vocals. Really, I think some of these songs are more easy going, while a few other are extremely high virtuosity crazy cool songs. This really is probaly Frank's most romantic album, so if you want an album that will satisfy you and your honey, then I'd really reccomend this album.
