The Caps

Songwriter Chris Worth has recently compiled 12 pop songs on The Caps first full-length album, “Heading to the Coast.” The Caps’ catchy tunes are reminiscent of bands such as the Beach Boys, Neil Young, Belle and Sebastian, and The Kinks. The band’s lyrics are painted with images of modern life, comedy, heartbreak, joy and wide-eyed observations of personal experiences.

The Caps got their start when Chris moved to Portland in 2005 and started the band with friends James Reisen, Jessica Bonin, James Hall, and Brian Lelko, who all played on the album. The band also released the Plastic Rings EP in 2007, and has played a handful of shows in Portland and in Washington State, sharing the stage with bands such as Blind Pilot, the Maldives, and Shake Speak.

After recording “Heading to the Coast”, The Caps underwent a major lineup change, with the original members leaving to pursue individual music efforts. In 2009, Peter David, Erik Carter, and Andrew Grimaldo jumped into the fray, joining Chris in his efforts. Many electrifying shows have been played by the current lineup, and good reviews have been plentiful.
