Sleep.Shy is an independent rock band from New York City. It was founded by drummer Ariel Weissberger and singer/guitarist Joseph Levinson after they decided to record selected songs from the vast material compiled while growing up in Monterrey, Mexico. During the Galapagos Inn recording sessions Ariel invited guitarist/singer Brian Ferrell, whom he met in Graduate School while studying Music Therapy at NYU, to collaborate on the project. A strong musical connection was evident and Brian quickly became a permanent band member, adding a whole new different layer to Sleep.Shy's sound. Curious songwriting and off beat rhythms make every Sleep.Shy song an experience. A mixture of Rock, Jazz, Latin and Electronic rhythms played over odd forms and Post-Rock harmonies create the perfect context for the cynical remarks and absurd images expressed in the lyrics. The result is an elaborated yet easy to listen to sound that will quickly become a favorite on your playlist.
